Hi, I'm Heather. I'm a software engineer, small business owner, wife, mom, and the founder of Runia Web Co. I help businesses build professional websites backed by personal service, clear communication, and ongoing support.
From Farm Life to Software Engineering
My story started on a South Dakota farm, where I learned the value of hard work, responsibility, and helping wherever needed.
After earning my Computer Science degree, I spent more than 16 years building and supporting software systems and web applications.
Today, I bring that same commitment to quality, reliability, and personal service to every website I build through Runia Web Co.
Why I Started Runia Web Co.
Building a business of my own had been a goal for years. I wanted the opportunity to work directly with entrepreneurs, help small businesses establish a professional online presence, and create something that reflected my values of hard work, reliability, and personal service.
I also wanted the flexibility to spend more time with my family while building something meaningful for the future.
That's how Runia Web Co. was born.
Why Runia?
Runia is my maiden name. I chose it because it's unique, meaningful to me, and reflects my South Dakota roots and family values.
Those same values helped shape Runia Web Co. Today, I strive to bring hard work, honesty, reliability, and personal service to every client and every project.

More Than a Website Developer
I'm not just a website developer. I'm also a small business owner, wife, and mom to a busy toddler.
Building a business has given me firsthand experience with the challenges entrepreneurs face when trying to attract customers, market their products and services, and establish a professional online presence. I understand the balancing act of serving customers, managing a business, and making the most of every hour in the day.
Entrepreneurship is a family affair in our household. While I'm building Runia Web Co. and keeping up with an energetic toddler, my husband works as a professional fisherman. Those experiences help me connect with the business owners I serve because I understand the hard work, persistence, and commitment it takes to build something of your own.
